Reflections On This Journey So Far
Well here it is Sunday afternoon. The clock is ticking away and I find myself struggling to add a simple calendar to my blog. After much playing around (my tutoring son is still asleep!), I discovered that I needed to upgrade the blog template so it works like the video demonstration. So if you are a returning follower, you might notice that my blog looks a little different. Then I couldn't get the calendar to fit without part of it being cut off. So I discovered another button that let me change the pix and save it. Poof, it finally worked. OK, so I am feeling pretty proud of myself at this moment. Ahhhh, but my work is not done! I still have a few more things to do to complete all of week one's assignments. Yes, the stress level is growing as the clock ticks away. Session three has already been posted! So for the sake of my team, I must continue the rest of session 1 later and begin working on session 2 so our assignment is not late. Stay tuned for more adventures with a beginning blogger....

Traditional Web Pages vs. Blogs
One major difference between a traditional web page and a blog is that the information on the website doesn't necessarily get updated often. Information on a web page could stay the same for weeks at a time, whereas information on a blog is changing as daily news is released. Another major difference is that a blogger's readers can post openly, in the comment section, their opinions and comments about your blog post. Another difference is a person's blog can be a handy tool for use in the classroom, as it is easier to connect with students, parents, and other professionals in your field. Lastly, a web page concentrates on one general topic whereas you, as the author of the blog, can setup a weekly topic routine (ex. Mondays could talk about green living and Tuesdays would talk about new technology products for the week, etc.).
